Silly kids! Tricks are for bunnies!!!
Now that you have a bunny buddy, you can have lots of fun with it.
Exercising, hide and seek, and toy toss are great ways to entertain your furry friend. Did you know that you can train your rabbit? Yup you can! Much like a
well-trained dog, you can teach your bunny to do tricks!!! So… how do you get ready to train?
First thing is to pick what you want your bunny to do. It can be something simple, like coming to you when you call its name… or hopping on your lap. It can also be other things like: jumping a hurdle, going through a tube, or even learning an obstacle course! Once you pick something, anything, you have to have patience. I know that cursed word! But anything that you do require patience, you cannot give up on what your trick will be. So what next? Well it’s not right away that your rabbit will do the trick; you have to get him interested in it. For example, if you want your rabbit to hop on your lap when you sit down you should sit down, place a treat on your leg, and if the bunny hops on reward it. Keep doing this. Always give the rabbit the reward right after he does the trick. He will think “oh hopping on their lap equals treat” .
If your trick is a little more complicated, you can divide it into steps.
If you’re trying to get your bunny to pick up a toy you should divide like this:
step 1: walk up to the toy. Step 2: smell the toy. Step 3: move the toy with its mouth. Step 4: pick it up. Do each step until he gets it right before moving on
to the next step.
Just something to remember before your training begins! Thank you
