Let me just say that since January 14, I have not slept...I keep an eye on all the babies varies time at night making sure they are all warm and making sure the mom's are doing well,It's Like having babies myself, sleepless nights and worries.....but oh it feel so good to see them grow and get stronger everyday. We have not lost any babies, except the two that were born dead from slowhopalot.
By the way her babies opened their cutie eyes and they jump out of the nestbox and she doen't mind at all, she lays with her babies all day,I never seen that, the moms always run from the babies to the top of the nestbox, but she just hangs in there and loves them....Probably because it was a planned pregnancy...lol.( They have all been sold)
My routine is ,First thing in the morning I feed all the mom's extra Kale, and of course everybody else too!!!! I make sure they are not too hot or too cold.
Check their litter boxes....Yes...All of them are potty trained..!!!! so I replace the wood shavings if needed, check their water...nope never ever ever ever frozen, but I change it almost everyday to keep fresh. I keep my bunnies at a controled temperature of 62F. degrees during the winter and they love that. so my babies never drink frozen water. Then is time to make sure that all 20 babies are fed...How? one by one! and if they are not, then I have Luise hold the momma and we help her feed them. when their tummies are super full then it's time to go to the next one until all babies are full.
So as you can imagine my days are full of fun!!!
I'm going to start Cookie Dough's Photos maybe today,I've been so busy...But we love all our Hollands. and I can't wait until spring is here so I can take photos of our rabbitry for you to see how cute!!
and of course start working in the garden for their fresh veggies. Until December we had Fresh Kale in our greenhouse then it got so cold that I began to purchase at the grocerie store, but tha'ts not too bad it lasted a long time!!
Anyway enjoy the photos and please call me if you have questions, you have about a month to prepare until SlowHopalot's Babies go home with you!
