Rabbits are very cute and fuzzy but owning one is a huge responsibility!
Did you know that not all rabbits like to be held? Yes, they are ground animals that prefer to interact with you on the ground, at their level. So be sure you are getting what you want before adopting your rabbit. Not all rabbits like to be held, but if you develop a relationship with your rabbit and assuming that your rabbit has been socialized daily from young age, then you will be able to hold them for cuddles or grooming as needed.
Another myth about rabbits is that they need carrots everyday. That is far from the truth! Carrots are only treats and should be offered as part of a healthy diet only once in a while.
Rabbits must to be spayed or neutered in order to continue being the cuddly bug you adopted. When rabbits become sexually mature they develop NATURAL rabbit behaviors that us humans find quite obnoxious. Only Exotic pet vet will perform such surgery in rabbits. You should have a exotic pet vet before you adopted a bunny.
Did you know that some people are allergic to hay and rabbits should have hay daily? Once in a while we encounter people who are not allergic to rabbits but are extremely allergic to hay. So it would be fair for both you and your future rabbit, to have yourself tested.
Rabbits are very social animals and love to be around their human families, therefore the best place for rabbits is indoors where you reside!
There are many ways you can feed a rabbit but a healthy rabbit diet consist of hay and high quality plain pellets. Fruits and carrots are treats and should not be offered daily.
Rabbits cannot be caged all day and they live for 10-12 years when cared for properly.
Are you ready to commit for that long?
