The past few months have been so busy for us! We wanted to have a cow to supply our family with fresh dairy products, so we have been busy looking for the perfect cow and the perfect barn builder.
Now we can breath again, and enjoy taking photos, blogging and talking to you on Facebook.
Fall is a busy time for us with our breeding program, it is a better time for the does as the temperature are cooler. We have reduced our herd quite a lot recently. As you well know our goal isn't to produce many pet quality rabbits,so once in a while we have to take a hard look in our herd and decide who can help us on achieving our goals.
We only want to breed Holland lops who represent the breed to standard so we only have 13 adult Holland lops. Becoming stagnant can be easy when you love your rabbits, but if we breed pet quality we would never improve our herd.
We now have only three herd bucks and ten adult does. We are keeping a lot of our babies and selling only a few. Our waiting list is big right now and we are working to finally starting showing again. Talking about that.... We haven't been to shows recently because we refuse to show somebody else's breed. We want to represent our own rabbitry when we show. Our goal is to stand up in any show against anyone and feel good about it, so we have been working hard to produce our own herd. I have some very promising young bucks coming up and should find time to photograph them soon. Anyway, just wanted to give you an update on what we've been up to lately!
Oh I almost forgot to mention that my shipment of HairBusters is now here! you can order on the House Rabbit supply page.
