What is GI Stasis?
World widely know as the silent killer, a potentially deadly condition in which the digestive system slows down or stops completely. Rabbits intestines is meant to be always moving, when stress happens due to pain, weather changes, sudden noises or whatever is bothering them, a rabbit will sit back on a corner and stop eating. You will only have few hours to save your bunny's life, if you catch soon enough. It is life threatening and should be considered an emergency.
The key is to dissolve the blockage and get their intestines moving again. As they stop eating their gut become dry and stop moving. Your biggest concern is to hydrate their stomach by force feeding, so the rhythm of their digestive tract is regained. I use and recommend Critical care by Oxbow, is a recovery food and can be purchased on my rabbit supplies page, but you can also use baby food like the one above. Stay away from sweet stuff. You must feed them by syringe every hour until they start eating on their own.
Im sending out all order of HairBuster today. If you haven't ordered yours yet, you can order until 11:00 am today and I will ship it today!
