I just read a great article and thought that you maybe could like it too.
http://www.smallanimalchannel.com/bunnybonding for tips about bonding two rabbits.
Rabbit urine can be quite pungent ,so unless your bunny is used to a litter box that can be replaced often,I wouldn't adopt a bunny as a pet. Breeders often has cages with removable trays and they clean it weekly, however if you plan to have your rabbit indoors, that's just not the right setup, specially not in your kitchen area. I don't know about you but I also wouldn't have that on my living room or bedroom.
Bunnies are great pets,as long as you have them potty training from young age,as they grow up using a litter box they will know exactly what to do and where to go . After spaying and neutering they will just get better and better. Not all litters are safe for rabbirs,I use Aspen wood shavings and that's what I recommend. Rabbits like to nibble on their litter so clumping -style or corncob based can pose a terrible risk for rabbits.
Rabbits are not like cats when using the litter box, their hit rate is less then 100% however all the urine is always in the litter box, if you find any "little surprises" on the cage just swipe with a dust pan and small broom. I purchase mine at the dollar store.
It is alot easier to swipe their hutch daily then clean urine splashes from your walls or carpet.
Are you thinking about adopting a rabbit as a family pet?
Be sure to have their potty training steps started early in life, bad habits are better if never started!
When choosing a animal for your family you truly should do a research before buying. Any good breeder would warranty their animals.....that doesn't mean that you will endorse neglect, careless, and selfish behavior!
If you don't like how a breeder work, don't believe her or her values then choose another one!!!! believe me there are breeders everywhere.
My point is unless you are going to follow someone's instructions and guidance you shouldn't do business with them..... When I sell a rabbit I provide FREE of charge, a booklet with extensive instructions of how to care for my animal. I spend at least one full hour of my time with the buyers explaining details about caring, potty training and bonding to your new animal. That is very important because if you are not going to listen and do whatever you find online.....then when things goes wrong...who are you going to cry for help?
I warranty all my animals,I even provide your first FREE vet consultation, but if you don't follow my directions on how to care and feed your bunny.....you are on your own!
Please be sure to read my Sales Policies before inquiring about my animals,my warranty is conditional to you following my instructions. I will not replace a animal that died due to neglect, wrong feed, physical accidents ,heat stroke and other buyer's wrong doings. I replace any animal that dies within 7 days of purchase and that has been taken cared of properly based on MY care sheet.
