I receive so many email and texts from my clients and Facebook followers asking where to buy toys, hay and other rabbits supplies.
I decided that it was time to help them to find all that they would need with just one click.
Please visit my store "The rabbit mall" for your supplies.
The Rabbit Mall Now Open!
Are you starting your own rabbitry or just having some babies for the family? Breeding rabbits can be fun and interesting but you better learn quickly, mind your own.
Read books, read again and stay away from other breeders website, blogs and Facebook pages, they will just bring you down and discourage you and your breeding program.
Believe in yourself and never give up,that's my tip for you.
We've been really focused on selecting our best animals to improve our herd. Holland lops are challenging, you can't compare your animal to other breeders animals because we are all in different stages on our individual breeding program and it can drive you nuts if you compare your rabbits to others. We try to stay focus only on what is in our Rabbitry. Luise has an amazing notebook where she keep our records and we always go back to compare faults and different areas that need improvement. Every year we feel confident on our improvement and want to participate in more shows. Our focus right now is to improve length, we have improved a lot from our start but we are still shortening their length. Another area that we are focusing on is the length of our front legs.We hate long front limbs as they do not represent the Holland lop standard. Holland lops are to have Short, Thick front limbs not tall and refined front limbs. We are going to stay focus on breeding mostly torts and stay away from different colors as they are too far behind in quality and type. Torts have been developed for better type.
I'm very happy with Madison and Max offspring and I think that will be the focus of our herd for this year. Over and over I see Madison's offspring bringing the qualities I like in Holland lops like thick short bodies, short front limbs and big heads.
We are going to part with the other line we current have and narrow down our gene pool to reach the results we have envisioned.
I will have that line posted for sale in the next few days and would like to sell them to someone that are serious about developing that line, I do not want to sell them for someone that want immediate results, as that just isn't possible with Holland lops.
If you are starting out with Holland lops the best thing you can do is to buy your animals from the same bloodline and not buying everything you see available on the internet. keeping your genes close will result in more predictable breeding's and better results.
