How hard can it be?
I have had several clients who decided to buy a cheaper Holland lop because they were, "just as cuddly, just as clean" as mine, but cheaper? do you believe that? Well, they did. The result? a few months later they were contacting me about my rabbits. There is a reason why people rather wait for my rabbits even though they are three times the price of others.
I have the time to truly handle my bunnies daily and interact with them. I don't have to rush my children to school, then run to work for 8 hours and say that, "I handle my rabbits daily." I stay home all day with my rabbits, my babies are trained, cleaned and interacted with each day. It takes the time to teach a baby rabbit how to use a litter box. Some breeders spend hours on my website trying to see what I say here, so they can contradict me in their own websites. The truth of the matter is that our clients are so happy when they get a bunny from us because they are truly cuddly. They are not weaned at 5 weeks because of that the only time they are cute. We naturally wean our babies. We do not rush them out the door for a profit. We allow their potty trained mothers to give them the best start in life.
To wean a baby at 5 weeks is the same as sending your child out the door at 13 years old and believe they will be ok. At such young age baby, Holland lops still need their mothers.
We start our potty training as soon as they come out of their nest box, they watch their mother only using their litter boxes and learn from her.
Now let me ask you few questions:
If a baby rabbit watches their mother urinating everywhere, thru her wire cage, what do you think they will learn?
How easy is it to break a bad habit?
Do you think it is easier to start a potty training program or simply continue a established process of training?
The choice is yours!
