There are many reasons why people adopt, breed, buy or give a pet.... What everyone should take into consideration is that we are talking about LIVES and unless you are absolutely committed to the animal no matter WHAT,you shouldn't get a pet. Life changes and so does our circumstances, the question is :Are you going to be there for this animal no matter what comes your way? Unless you are willing to give attention, housing, care and alot of love to this bunny,PLEASE do not get one. There are many animal lovers that would absolutely love to have a bunny, please don't feel obligated to buy one!!!
Many breeders get blamed for animals that are abandoned at shelters around the country, and I have no doubt that the fault is of irresponsible people, selfish, careless pet owners that dispose of their animals when things gets tough.
Just like any relationship, if you are willing to just do the minimum effort,it's doomed to failure!!!! you cannot setup animal to fail you,it's simply unfair.
Please consider few fact about getting a bunny:
1- who will take care of it,when you plan a vacation?
2- Is anyone on your household allergic to Rabbits?( very feel people are, they are not like cats, they don't have dandruff falling everywhere,i'm not a doctor,so please get a professional advice on that! )
3- Are you Willing to devote time to play with your bunny?
4-do you have appropriate housing for it BEFORE you buy a bunny?how about during the winter or rain season?
5-are you ready to commit yourself to this bunny for the next 8-10 yrs of your life?
6-Bunnies get UGLY at 8-12 weeks "the ugly years" during this period most bunnies are awkward looking and some SHALLOW people dispose of their bunnies when they are on these fases of their lives, they will get over it ;just like you did after your teenage years. but if all you care is looks...don't get a pet!
